This lot of washed bourbon sidra is a unique blend from over 10 farms spanning different microclimates and regions in Huila, showcasing exceptional quality. Known simply as “sidra,” this cultivar is a dream for growers: productive, resistant to Roya, and deliciously fruity. Its origins remain unclear, but it's widely believed to have been developed by Nestlé in Ecuador by crossing red bourbon and typica varieties. The resulting seedlings were reportedly shared with local farmers for feedback, leading to sidra becoming a signature plant in northern Ecuador. In Colombia, however, it's still rare, available primarily from a few dedicated farmers who have sourced it directly from Ecuador.

Huila is one of Colombia’s premier regions for top microlots, thanks to its geographical accessibility, skilled farmers, and diverse microclimates. The region offers a consistent supply of fresh coffee nearly year-round, with communities like Palestina, Acevedo, and La Argentina contributing to its rich agricultural tapestry.

Terra Coffee SAS, founded in 2016 by Wbeimar and Juliana at Finca La Terraza, focuses on developing high-quality coffees in Huila and Nariño. They manage two producer associations: "Terra Verde" in Huila with 120 partners and "Ecoterra" in Nariño with 140. Their commitment to quality aims to improve the livelihoods of small coffee farming families by raising prices and fostering a sense of pride in their work. We hope you enjoy this lovely coffee!
