We are thrilled to announce our latest single-origin coffee: Arboleda, sourced from the breathtaking region of Nariño, Colombia. This coffee celebrates the dedication of smallholder farmers who cultivate some of the world’s most vibrant and flavorful beans.

About the Region

Nestled in the municipalities of Arboleda and Berruecos within Nariño, Arboleda grows at altitudes of 1,800–2,080 masl in rich, clay-loam soils. This high-elevation terroir, paired with Colombia's lush climate, creates the perfect environment for producing exceptional coffee.

Cultivation and Processing

This lot is the result of the collaborative efforts of seven smallholder producers, each with their own micro-mill. These farmers follow meticulous post-harvest practices:

• Harvesting cherries at peak ripeness

• Macerating cherries overnight

• Depulping, fermenting, and washing beans with care

• Drying parchment inside solar dryers, which protect the coffee from rain while ensuring consistent quality

The support of Banexport, a Colombian export company, has been invaluable. By offering technical guidance, cupping feedback, and logistics support, Banexport helps farmers continuously improve coffee quality while earning better incomes to reinvest in their farms and communities.

Tasting Notes

Arboleda offers a radiant flavor profile with notes of lemonade, cherry, and brown sugar, carried by a juicy body. The vibrant sweetness and delicate acidity make for a lively, refreshing cup that perfectly represents the terroir of Nariño.

Brewing Recommendations

To fully experience the flavors of Arboleda, we recommend brewing it as a pour-over:

• Coffee-to-water ratio: 1:16

• Grind size: Medium-coarse

• Water temperature: 200°F (93°C)
