Our Single-Origin Decaf Ethiopia is a great choice for coffee lovers who want a complex, fruity coffee without the caffeine. It is medium-roasted with a delicate floral aroma and notes of blueberries and graham cracker.

This particular lot was naturally processed and dried on raised beds in Guji, Ethiopia before it was selected by Royal to undergo Swiss Water processing in Canada. This particular processing method ensures that most of the inherent flavor qualities of the coffee are well maintained. We believe that you shouldn't have to sacrifice taste or quality when choosing decaf!

French press, Moka pot, & cold brew

French press: The floral notes are definitely brightest in this method compared to the others. It has a pastry crust taste to it depending on the grind and length of steep time. 7 to 12 minutes usually. Just 10 - 13 grams of granulated sugar is all it needs if you prefer it sweet.

Moka pot: Between all the different combinations of sweeteners, grind sizes, and filtering methods, you can get some crazy flavors so you really can't go wrong. Overall, I prefer it with 20g coconut condense milk and 165ml Oatmilk because it gives a kind of Blueberry custard taste which I can't say I've ever had before. Super unique. No sure on the microns but at 28 grams in a 6 cup bialetti using a Kingrinder P2 it's between 42 - 46 clicks and I swapped out the standard filter for the E&B lab filter doubled with a single paper aero press filter.

Cold brew: My favorite method thus far and needs absolutely nothing with it. Very blueberry forward. 75 grams at a coarser grind than French press but not so chunky that the beans are recognizable, 800ml cold water, 200ml of boiling water to bloom for 1min and 15 seconds, add the cold water, stir, ready in a few hours but for best results steep for 12 to 14 hours. Adding beer fining helps with the smaller bits but not necessary if you don't mind the texture. I could drink this every day for the rest of the summer and I'd still be craving it by the end of the year.

Haven't tried a pour over yet but I'm sure it'd taste great all the same.

Been on the search for good decaf!

Very glad I ordered this Ethiopia decaf. It’s amazingly fresh and bright aroma won me over before I even took a sip. I switched to decaf this year and have been looking for more new decafs to try. This was a great find.

This is my first experience with your decaf

This is my first experience with your decaf, and I made a good choice. I've been using a decaf that a local coffee shop roasted in-house, and it was too dark / bitter of a roast and probably was over a week too old, so powdery. I'll just get Blossom decaf from now on!
